Designed by Terry LaGree, Skyview at Terra Vista may be the best “hidden secret” on the Nature Coast. Built in 2002, Terra Vista was nominated for “Best New Course” in 2003. Skyview’s “Mountainous” terrain (2nd highest elevation in Central Florida) will take your breath away … not because of the height, because of its endless vistas. On a clear day you can see the Gulf of Mexico!

Juliette Falls – Dunnellon, Florida. Review by a group of Dutch Golfers …..

Posted on Monday, 4th May 2009 in Citrus County Golf News, Florida Golf News, Tee Time Specials in Citrus County FL

juliette falls in dunnellon

It was recommended to us by a number of golfers. the 7239-yard, par-72 course at Juliette Falls. It’s getting rave reviews from those who had the privilege to play it.
We (group of 8 Dutch golfers) played it last Sunday …….. We got a great deal on the green fees at $ 40 with golf cart.

This is a great golf course! While it is relative new, the condition, playability, challenging and scenic beauty with water falls makes this a fun course to play. The course is well maintained although the fairways are a little dry and the greens are fast, but not receptacle due to its firmness, which makes it a great challenge for your approach shot.

The four man-made water features are a nice touch at Juliette Falls, but the rolling, forested land is appealing enough on its own. There are many undulating holes, from the uphill, dogleg 10th hole to the straightaway, tumbling 450-yard 18th.

Perhaps the finest stretch of holes comes in the middle of the course, beginning at the sixth, a par 5 named “Reflection Lake.” It features a tee shot over the aforementioned lake before playing uphill to an elevated green. After that, “Oasis” is perhaps the most beautiful hole on the course, featuring a dazzling water structure adjacent to the green. A long and then a short par 4 on the eighth and ninth holes, capped by a potentially drivable No. 9, make for an exciting collection. There are plenty of traditional white-sand bunkers (believe me, you’ll find a few !),  utilized with some 25 acres of crushed coquina shells to form waste areas throughout the course. Although pesky, these waste areas are very playable and make for a visually stunning design.

The club also features an immense 10-acre practice area and a 7400-square-foot clubhouse with fully stocked golf shop  and sports bar, where we enjoyed a few drinks at the end of an enjoyable afternoon :)

A must play, it was a great day in the presents of good company. We all enjoyed it very much and we’ll definitely return here soon.

And to the good people at Juliette Fals we say in Dutch “helemaal toppie” !  (means : it was super)
