Update op verzoek van “van der Valk” : Vanwege de enorme administratieve rompslomp voert het restaurant voor Koninginnedag de consumptiebon in. U kunt deze bonnen op Koninginnedag verkrijgen bij de receptie en blijven ook na koninginnedag geldig. (en nee,  U kunt ze niet bij Walmart gebruiken ………. )

Update 29/04 :

a) Informatie, betaling toernooi ($ 5 pp) vanaf 11:00 uur in de bistro. Gaarne ook Uw cart fee / Green betalen in de proshop.

b) Op verzoek van de proshop : Iedereen moet zijn lidmaatschap kaart meebrengen of aankunnen tonen dat ze huuder zijn bij “vdValk” om in aanmerking te komen voor de membership rates. Niet leden betalen whatever de current Green Fee rate is.

c) Inschrijving voor het toernooi is nu gesloten ! ( maar we doen niet moeilijk hoor ……)

d) Breng een goed humeur mee …..  !!!!!

Update 25/04 : Heel veel mensen hebben zich al aangemeld voor het golf toernooi en/of buffet. Hopelijk hebben we dit jaar een record aantal deelnemers ! Een verzoek van het organisatie comitee : Velen hebben zich aangemeld voor het golf toernooi, maar niet iedereen heeft zijn golf handicap ingevuld en dit is zeer belangrijk voor de organisatie vwb de indeling van de flights.  Zou U zo vriendelijk willen zijn om dit als nog even door te geven bij de balie.

Update 23/04 : We hebben 57 inschrijvingen ontvangen en nog niet iedereen heeft gereageerd. 29 April sluit de inschrijving ! Kom gezellig een dag met Uw medelanders een middag golfen op 30 April. Aansluitend, start het buffet om 19:00 uur en is open voor iedereen. We zien U graag op 30 April !

Koninginnedag Toernooi

• Inschrijving Golf Toernooi (5 dollar per persoon) bij de vdValk balie, v.w.b. naam
en handicap. Uiterlijke inschrijvings datum : 29 April
• Aanmelding Oranje Buffet (29.95 dollar per persoon, inclusief tax en tip) bij de
van der Valk balie. Buffet kosten betaald U gewoon op 30 April s’avonds.
• Deelnemers betalen zelf hun green fee/cart fee bij de Lakeside GC proshop.
• Spel vorm : 18 holes Captains Choice met shotgun start.
• Dress code : Bijvoorkeur Oranje shirt, leukste outfit komt in aanmerking voor
een prijs.
• 11:00 uur : Welkom, indeling flights, inschrijfgeld betalen en toernooi informatie in het van der Valk restaurant.
• 11:45 uur : Deelnemers gaan naar hun toegewezen start hole.
• 12:00 uur : Shotgun start.
• 16:30 uur : Alle deelnemers binnen.
• Drankje op eigen rekening op het van der Valk terras.

Koninginnedag Buffet

• 19:00 uur : Prijs uitreiking
• 19:15 uur : Aanvang buffet in de bistro en op het terras met DJ Rick.
• Het buffet kost 29.95 dollar per persoon (Inclusief belasting en tip) af te rekenen bij van der Valk.

The Black Diamond Ranch golf course in Citrus County, renowned for fairways carved around canyon walls of an abandoned limerock quarry, is up for sale, along with an adjacent golf residential community, a 28,000 square foot clubhouse and 550 acres of undeveloped land.

Stan Olsen, the 81-year-old developer who turned the Black Diamond Ranch in Citrus County into a residential golf community in 1987, is planning to retire.

Olsen and his company, Black Diamond Properties Inc., are interested in selling the entire business, including the two 18-hole and one nine-hole golf courses that feature the Tom Fazio-designed “Quarry Course.”

Golf Digest has rated Black Diamond among the nation’s top 100 for 20 consecutive years, while Golf Magazine Living ranked Black Diamond among the 25 best courses to live on in 2007-2008.

The Plasencia Group, Inc., a Tampa-based hospitality real estate firm Olsen retained to create a deal, said no asking price has been determined

The Tampa firm has handled deals involving PGA National in Palm Beach, Amelia Island Plantation near Jacksonville, the Hills of Lakeway in Austin, Texas, and Kingston Plantation in Myrtle Beach. S.C. It will help upgrade operations at the golf community to enhance sale prospects during the poor economy.

“We are committed to finding an investor with strong financial credentials who shares Mr. Olsen’s desire for a successful long-term strategy, and who will present a reasonable plan for enhancing the property and the value of the real estate,” Lou Plasencia, chairman and chief executive of The Plasencia Group, said in a release.

Five privately owned homes were listed for sale on the Black Diamond Club website with prices ranging from $319,000 to $325,000. Another 18 lots were offered for sale at prices between $9,000and $220,000.

The course has certainly aged well, with an assortment of challenging fairways lined by mature emerald pine and oak trees native to the region, and water hazards on 21 of the course’s 27 holes.

The fair opens at 5 p.m. Monday with the opening ceremony, and while the midway rides don’t open until Tuesday, the exhibit buildings will be in full swing, entertainers will be giving it their all and, among other highlights, the Youth Rabbit Show and Youth Heifer Show will shine a spotlight on some of the finest young people anywhere.

Monday is “Buddy Night,” and with one ticket a second admission of equal or lesser value is free.

Tuesday is “Senior Citizens Day” with $1 admission. Between events, exhibits and entertainers, there’s plenty to do between 10 a.m. and when the midway opens at 5 p.m. All rides are just $1 Tuesday evening. The youth swine show starts at 7 p.m.

The fair opens at 5 p.m. Wednesday, “Chronicle Night,” and there will be pageants-o-plenty. The Decorated Baby Pageant is at 5:30, the Beautiful Baby Pageant is at 6, the Little Miss/Mr. Pageant is at 7:15 and the Pre-Teen Citrus County Pageant is at 8 p.m.

Good-looking little ones won’t be the only ones showing off, as the Youth Steer Show is at 7 p.m.

While gates open at 5 p.m. Thursday, Midnight Magic runs from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. and a $20 armband gets participants on unlimited rides.

Friday is “School Day,” with the fair opening at 1 p.m. and students are admitted free until 5 p.m.

The fair will be open for 12 hours of fun on the final day, Saturday. Gates open at 10 a.m. and the midway will be in full swing.

Given that all the above represents only a small fraction of all the fun to be found at the fair, the price of admission is pretty special, even during days when there are no specials: $5 for those age 11 and older, $3 for children ages 5 to 10, and age 4 and younger get in free. With the exception of Thursday, the fair closes at 10 p.m. daily.

Citrus County Fair Association members work all year to create a fair where everyone can feel welcome. Under their watchful eyes, the fair has grown, yet it still entices all ages to match their skills and talents with neighbors and to exhibit their accomplishments for all to applaud. In addition, hundreds of participants from businesses, organizations, clubs, churches and schools play their part, making it truly a collection of everything that makes Citrus County what it is.
